Science tells us that smiling has so many benefits! We could all smile more, don’t you think? Do you love to smile? We love to see you smile! Keep smiling your brightest and best with this list of tips to keep your smile healthy and shining.

The Benefits of Smiling

Research shows that smiling can boost your mood and confidence levels. This is because smiling alerts your brain to release tiny molecules called neuropeptides that help you to battle stress. Smiling also tells your brain to release other neurotransmitters such as dopamine, serotonin, and endorphins. When your brain and body feel happy, you’ll want to smile even more!

How to Smile More

Do you love to smile? We could all use some help smiling from time to time. We’ve got some tips to help you out!

One of the easiest ways to smile more is to post reminders. Add reminders to your phone calendar so it reminds you first thing in the morning or throughout the day at times when you might feel tired or stressed. Stick some encouraging notes on your bathroom mirror, or post them around your computer screen, work area, or car.

Another simple way to smile more is to practice self-care. When you feel well, it’s easy to smile!

Taking Care of Your Smile

When you practice self-care, don’t forget to take care of your smile, too! Self-care can look like setting aside some spa time just for your smile. Practicing regular dental care at home, visiting the dentist for a professional cleaning, trying a new mouthwash or toothpaste with an exciting flavor, or getting a whitening treatment can all help you to feel refreshed and brighten your smile.

Your Dream Smile

Bringing us back to our question, “Do you love to smile?” let’s talk about your smile goals! Do you already have the smile of your dreams, or are there things you wish you could change? We’re all about helping our patients to feel happy with their smiles. So, if you have goals for your smile, schedule an appointment to tell us about them so we can help you come up with a plan to achieve them!

Call our Centennial Dental Office, to make an appointment with a dentist who may be able to help you find out more about this topic, and improve your oral health.
